detection of land use changes for thirty years using remote sensing and gis (case study: ardestan area)

چکیده
due to the increase of changes in the land uses mainly resulting from humaninterferences, monitoring the changes and evaluating their trend and environmental effectsfor future planning and management are essential. in the present study, an attempt is madeto observe the changes which had occurred in ardestan area during a period of 30 yearsusing some satellite images. different kinds of data for every year in three time intervals of1976, 1990 and 2006 were retrieved from the images; then, using lmm model and gissoftware, the rate of changes for each piece of data was calculated. different methods ofclassification were tested. in this study, four classes of land uses were gained for each year.the results show that for 30 years, the area of residential zones had increased from 313.9to 528.3 ha and the area of agricultural lands had decreased from 440.6 to 346.3 ha. also, considering the changes of the area, almost 31% of the total area of the region hadundergone some changes during the studied period which is a symptom of maninterference. studies have also shown that changes of rangeland into residential lands hadoccupied the maximum area during last 30 years.

متن کاملThe Impact of Land Use/Land Cover Changes on Groundwater Resources Using Remote Sensing & GIS (Case Study: Khan-Mirza Plain)
Hydrological status and water table fluctuations are directly related to land use and/or land cover (LULC) changes in each area. In this research, the impact of LULC changes on groundwater quantity and quality of Khan-Mirza Plain, in the northern Karun watersheds, was investigated. For this purpose, Landsat 5, 7 and 8 satellite images and ETM and OLI sensors were employed to prepare the L...
متن کاملLand cover land use mapping and change detection analysis using geographic information system and remote sensing
Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict ...

This article was written with the aim of revealing land use changes in Urmia city using remote sensing of Landsat satellite images for 4 periods of 8 years between 1990 and 2019. For this purpose, two categories of data will be used in this research. The first category includes data obtained from satellite images and the second category includes ground data taken from Urmia ground station, whic...
متن کاملInvestigating the Effects of Land Use Changes on Trend of Desertification Using Remote Sensing (Case Study: Abarkooh Plain, Yazd, Iran)
More than one-third of the earth is characterized by arid and semi-arid climate and desertification phenomenon in these areas has been intensified in recent decades. This study aims to investigate the trend of desertification using vegetation indices and Iranian Model of Desertification Potential Assessment (IMDPA) in Abarkooh Plain, Yazd province, Iran. The satellite images (Landsat images in ...
متن کاملEvaluation of land use/land cover changes in Mekelle City, Ethiopia using Remote Sensing and GIS
Land use is a dynamic phenomenon that changes with time and space due to anthropogenic pressure and development. Evaluating the existing land use and its periodic change is useful for urban planners, policy makers and natural resource managers. Land use and land cover changes in Mekelle City, Ethiopia (north east Africa) over a period of 25 years was studied using remotely sensed data. Multi te...
